Swiss want more PC-21s

The Swiss Air Force has ordered another two Pilatus PC-21 trainers.

December 20: The Swiss Air Force has ordered another two Pilatus PC-21 trainers to add to the six delivered in 2008 under the Jet Pilot Training System (JEPAS) contract established at Emmen. Delivery of the new pair of aircraft will be in 2012.

Swiss Air Force student pilots transfer directly to the F-18 fighter after basic training on the PC-7 and thorough instruction on the PC-21 JEPAS. The PC-21’s state-of-the-art cockpit is designed to simulate the functionalities of a modern combat aircraft and enables trainee pilots to safely bypass an expensive jet trainer phase.
