VAQ-135 gives up its Prowlers

 

US Navy squadron VAQ-135 ‘Black Ravens’ has given up its last EA-6B Prowler.

October 14: US Navy squadron VAQ-135 ‘Black Ravens’ has given up its last EA-6B Prowler before transitioning to the Boeing EA-18G Growler from November 1.

Part of the US Navy’s plan to retire the EA-6B by 2015, the Black Ravens will be assigned five EA-18Gs and become the Navy’s fourth operational electronic warfare Growler squadron. VAQ-135 is based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington State.
